DRAPING
I love the natural organic lines of the folds of fabric that define the shape of the canvas that it appears to be wrapped around. The idea of painting draped cloth really began with a texture assignment in a high school art class. I did a sketch of draped cloth made to look like a mountain range and I clearly remember my art instructors smiling approval. This is my newest series, and I am again enjoying the positive reinforcement from collectors. I think it’s simply a calm and pretty subject matter that does not require assigning any meaning to it – it is just photorealism at its core.
